David Lyon, MS
A long-time Austinite, Dave Lyon holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from MIT.
Dave teaches Austin Elite Prep's GRE test prep program, working with our GRE students as they prepare for graduate school. As a teacher, Dave has an amazing degree of patience with students. (Just ask the small children whom he has taught to play piano – his hobby.)
In addition to the care that he gives his students, Dave has strong philanthropic interests; his volunteer activities includes his current work as the principal of Big Picture Social Impact Consulting, and past work as an advisory board member for Tomberg Family Philanthropies and managing director of fundraising for a non-profit organization for at-risk youth.
During the day, Dave runs a successful residential real estate business, but his heart has always belonged to education as a way to better lives, one student at a time.
